Event Details

The 2nd Annual Joint Vendor Fair between the San Diego County Water Works Group and the CWEA-San Diego Section brings you a training and educational opportunity that consists of all areas of protecting water quality and the public health. Don’t miss out on training sessions, vendor demonstrations, BBQ lunch, and prizes. Last year, we sold out the event and had over 40 water and wastewater vendors provide displays for the 200+ attendees.

Please register online if you plan to attend. You can choose to pay with a credit card or pay by check through the mail or at the door. Checks should be made payable to CWEA-SDS and mailed to Karen Falk, Santa Fe Irrigation District, PO Box 409, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067.

**Opportunity Drawing Following Lunch**

 

Each attendee will have two opportunities to enter the drawing for some great prizes. The first will be given at registration and the second will be given when you get your Vendor Fair Booklet stamped by enough vendors!

Learn how odors are formed in the collection system and how they are released to create odor complaints. Learn about the four widely accepted liquid phase treatment and widely accepted vapor phase technologies to cost effectively eliminate any odor situation.

Connecting, Tapping & Repairing Pipes Patrick Michael, GSM

Learn how to properly install repair products and what questions to ask before repairs begin. Review the proper installation of repair products and the different styles of tap-ping sleeves and the types of pipe they are best suited. Find out about some new products designed for future ease of repair applications and how to decide on long-term fix vs. short-term repairs

History of Flow Monitoring Richard Delgadillo, Hach Company

History of Flow Monitoring will provide a chronological approach to flow monitoring technology and explain the reasons for flow monitoring. A discussion of appropriate applications will be provided along with the advantages and disadvantages to provide attendees the tools to select the proper technology. The presentation will include various methods of remote communications, calibration techniques, installation, and the latest flow monitoring technologies.

Learn about the need for controlling air in piping systems and the phenomena of surges in pipelines. Find out about air valve specifications and locations.

R.E. Badger Filtration Plant SCADA System Elijah Standing Warrior, Santa Fe Irrigation District

An overview of the Process Information Wan/Lan, Networking Infrastructure, Process Control Wan/Lan, and device level at Santa Fe Irrigation District. Discussion on lessons learned from Witch Creek fire and policies implemented to prevent communication failures during future disasters.

Flange Bolting Rich Varalla, TriPac Fasteners

The most misunderstood specifications that are written in water and wastewater industry are around flange bolting. This seminar will review the most common ASTM steel bolts specified and identify various coatings used for corrosion protection. The discussion will cover how to identify bolts, stainless steel galling problems, torching off bolts, bolts around waste water, electrolysis and torque requirements.
